Sound healing is the practice of using sound and frequency to support mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. The body reacts and responds to anything that changes its vibrational balance, whether that reaction is from an inner or outer source.
Sound healing can reduce stress, anxiety, depression, inflammation and pain and boost your overall health. It can also help calm the nervous system and balance and clear the mind. Sound healing tools used in our intuitive healing sessions include Tuning Forks, singing bowls, tingshas and drumming to facilitate healing.
The moment I picked up tuning forks, I knew they would be profound healing tools. Feeling the vibration of tuning forks both giving and receiving is very calming. Since using tuning forks, my energy and mental clarity has regained traction and my shoulders are finally dropping from being up around my ears! Tuning forks also helped shift constant pain and weakness from long-term tennis elbow to an occasional ache.
Years of playing sports has taken its toll on my body resulting in chronic low back pain. The low back pain causes me to toss and turn at night making for decades of restless sleeps. A combination of tuning forks and singing bowls has helped ease the pain and dramatically increase the amount of deep sleep I now enjoy. When singing bowls are placed on my pelvic area, the vibration shifts the stuck energy at a deep level giving me quick relief. Sacral tuning fork techniques have focused the healing vibrations to work deep into the area “rewiring” the energy flow.
The Ohm frequency of Tuning Forks is considered to be a sacred and healing sound vibration. The Ohm tone is known to contain all sound; all frequencies are present in Ohm just as light contains all shades of colour. Ohm is an elemental or earth tone – restorative, naturally calming and gently energizing.
The Ohm vibration is a powerful catalyst for accessing our body’s innate healing ability. Applying the tuning forks to the physical and subtle body opens the energetic pathways where the Qi or natural life force flows. As a result, energy blocks are removed – increasing the flow of Qi– facilitating homeostasis which is fundamental to the healing process.
Singing bowls can have a powerful, positive impact on the chakras, treating and realigning them utilizing specific sound vibrations. Once a singing bowl is sounded, its vibrational resonance flows energetically through all areas of the body. This field of energy locates discordant energies in cellular imbalance and within seconds restores this to its natural ‘wellness’ frequency.
Tibetan tingshas are small cymbals made from blended metals like singing bowls. The meditative vibration and sound of tingshas brings us to the here and now at the beginning and end of a session. At the beginning, you let go of everything except the clean moment of here and now; at the end you awaken physically and spiritually in the here and now of material reality. Tingshas are also used to clear the energy present in a room and “open” it by sounding the tingshas in the four corners of a room.
Drumming can have positive effects on your health, accelerating physical healing through reducing tension, anxiety, stress and boosting the immune system. Drumming also produces feelings of well-being, releasing negative feelings, blockages and emotional trauma.
